Andrea Lange, visual artist from Norway, born 1967.
Andrea Lange’s aesthetic strategies spring out of different art historical traditions such as conceptual art, performance and documentary. She works alternately towards the traditional exhibition space and the public space. Trough a number of projects in public space she has sought to connect artistic statements to current political agendas.
Lange's media include video, audio and photography, text and existing public collective material. She introduces biographical material into her art, both from her
own life and those of others, and combines these human relations with a clear social engagement.
Lange is educated at The National Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen, Norway and Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vanucci in Perugia. She has exhibited in a number of international venues, among them .NO, New York, The Moore Space, Miami, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona, Mucsarnok /Kunsthalle Budapest, Paris Photo at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, Belfast Exposed, Belfast, Enzimi Festival, Rome, Northern Lights Filmfestival, Newcastle, Momentum - Nordic Biennial for Contemporary Art, Moss, Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, La Triennale di Milano and Melbourne International Biennial.
