With double university degrees - in opera-directing as well as a violinist – Elisabet has a broad substratum for her current occupation. After many years as a professional musician she now, since well over a decade, works as a freelance director for opera, musicals and spoken theatre. Among her employers The Royal Opera in Stockholm, the Gothenborg Opera, Norrlandsoperan, Värmlandsoperan, Malmö Opera, Nordnorsk Opera, Stockholms Stadsteater and Borås Stadsteater can be mentioned. In 2001 Elisabet founded – and is the artistic director of – the Chamber Opera Company TeaterTravers, whose main ambition is to spread music drama to new and larger groups of audiences. She also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Academy of Music in Malmö.
