Erik Snedsbol (real name Erik Snedsbøl) is a Norwegian artist and photographer, born in Sweden 1965. He got Norwegian father and Swedish mother. He grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Lived in various parts of Scandinavia, plus London, Buenos Aires, New York and Paris.
He have always valued physical work. Throughout his upbringing and youth he have been physically active in athletics, cycling, skiing, mountain climbing, and more. The energy that this has given him has been extremely important for his creative work.
More often than not, it has been natural for him to be inspired by things other than specifically art. He think there is a lack of interesting energy and originality in today’s contemporary art, and so he mostly work with people from outside the art scene.
His art and projects is to be consider highly emerging and cutting edge, and involves a whole range of topics such as: edgy modeling, human rights, animal rights, ecology, zoology, gender studies, sexology, sports and fashion.
