Jógvan Biskopstø has studied at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen, then going on to study at China National Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China. As a young man he was an apprentice carpenter and later a traditional Faroese boatbuilder. He intertwines the interest for the aesthetical with nature, the hunt and the craft when working on sketches and water colour paintings, and art work using materials like iron, steel and silver. It is not only the final result which captures the imagination; it is the journey to the final result that is just as interesting.
