Janne Kruse works with sculpture related process where dialog between body and material is
essential. The finished works are closely connected to the act of creating which serves as a frame
where she investigates relation between actuality and potentiality.
Kruse uses mostly steel sheets as a part of her expression. She is interested in the contradiction
between the soft body and the hard material as a way to reveal time and being. The creation is
meditative and powerful at the same time. Kruses sculptures are a way of writing in space and by
doing them she relates to body-present concepts such as calligraphy and tai chi.
