Kenneth Varpe (1978), holds an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art & Design, The London Institute, and is currently based in Oslo and Stavanger, Norway.

«My work is usually balancing between the poetic and the intuitive on the one hand, and the reasoned and cognizant on the other - a position of informed naiveté. I am interested in how the subjective experience contributes to the larger discussion around how reality is constructed and perceived. Through drawing, painting, object and video, often in collaboration with others, I explore personal stories and complexities of representation.»

Varpe has also cureated exhibitions, initiated an artist run space and held board positions at various art institutions/organisations, currently at Kunsthall Stavanger and Unge Kunstneres Samfund (national member society for young artists).
