Petri Kaivanto

Petri Kaivanto (born 1968, Helsinki) is a poliedric singer-songwriter and journalist. He is very attached to Mediterranean cultures and especially to Italy. He studied Italian language already in high school and then at the universities of Helsinki and Perugia.

Besides his solo releases he has written music and lyrics for other Finnish artists. He has also composed three musicals and some other theatre music. In 2004 he started collaboration with guitarist Alejandro Polemann in Buenos Aires: their project Aires de Finlandia combines Finnish and Argentinian tango in a unique way.
