Scenography costume and set designer | Finland
Master of Arts Pasi Räbinä works as a costume designer for stage. Previously he studied at Aalto University School of Arts in Helsinki, in the department of Design and Architecture. He has worked over 30 years in many theatres in Finland and has designed costumes and some sets designs for more than 100 productions including plays, opera and dance performances. He has worked as a visiting designer in a numerous city theatres in Finland and has a permanent position in Oulu City Theatre.
His latest and most interesting works as a costume designer are My Fair Lady, Dangerous Liaisons, The Addams family, The Tales of Hoffmann, La Bohemé and Orfeus and Eurydice. At the moment he is designing costumes for the play Shakespeare in Love.
At the moment Räbinä is also working on the book titled The Print of Beauty. The publisher of the book is Aalto Arts Books in Aalto University Helsinki. The main content of his book is presentation of various types of stage costumes and fabrics manufactured with different methods of printing, dyeing and painting. The book is aimed at bringing a new method of working in theatres and also for educational purposes. Räbinä´s goal is to continue writing the book in Rome.
