Astrid Nordang. An introduction
I am a writer and translator, inspired by oscillating between the two occupations. I am mainly translating fiction, from Italian and German, and among the ones that are special to me are my translations of the poetry collections by Pier Paolo Pasolini and Nelly Sachs. I don’t write poetry myself, however having worked as an actress and lived with a musician, as well as reading a lot, rhythm and literacy plays an important role in my prose. I have written six novels so far, all of them exploring identity, reality and myths – in Norway and abroad. In Rome I plan to dwell more into the essay genre and meddle the occupations and so to speak „write by translation“.
I live in Oslo, where I have my family.
