Jakob Vedelsby, born March 13, 1965, made his debut with poems in literary journals in 1990 and has published the novels "Heaven must wait" (2002), "You and I" (2004), "The World in the World" (2007), "Mountains on the horizon" (2009), "The Law of Humanity (2011)" and "Moon Shadows" (2015). "The Law of Humanity" gave him an international breakthrough. The novel has so far been published in six languages, including German and Chinese. "Moon Shadows" has so far been translated into Russian and was published in full length in the March 2017 issue of the literary journal "October". The book will be published by the Russian publishing house Eksmo in June 2017.
Jakob Vedelsby holds an MA in Film and Media from the University of Copenhagen and is – alongside novel writing – working with communication, journalism and as a lecturer in creative writing. He is also the author of non-fiction books. From 2014 to 2017 he was chairman of Danish Authors’ Society. Jakob Vedelsbys work as a writer is rewarded with numerous grants from the Danish State and a variety of different foundations. During his stay at Circolo Scandinavo he will be working on his new novel.
