Jennifer Rainsford

Jennifer Rainsford (b. 1982) is a visual artist and director based in Stockholm.

She studied film and art at the Royal Institute of Arts in Stockholm, KKH, and Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, SADA. For many years she worked as a journalist at the cult TV-show Tracks on Arte in Paris. For the show she directed and produced short documentaries about music, film, art and future technologies in East Africa, United States, Europe and China. She is the founder and member of the art and film production collective Crystal Beacon. Her films has been screened at international festivals Oberhausen, Berlinale, Rotterdam and CPH:DOX.

Her films, stories and photographs follow large scale changes in nature and humans. She is currently working on a project about swamps in India and Sweden, with Art Lab Gnesta and Eath CoLab and is finishing two sci-fi short films and her first feature length documentary; Stories from the Debris with planned premiers in 2017 and 2018.
