PETER BRANDT

Peter Brandt was born in Denmark, 1966, and studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen and The Royal University College of Sweden, Stockholm.

Brandt’s works is influenced by 1970s feminist body art, trauma theory, masculinity studies and art historical material. The wounded body is Brandt’s most vital material either in direct performative photographs and video works or in the making of hand-crafted works in a wide range of materials.

Brandt’s latest solo show was “Monument to Violence” at Memory of The Future in Paris in 2019 and he has been awarded residencies by Delfina Foundation, London, Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, The Danish Institute in Rome and is a recurrent resident at Circolo Scandinavo.
