Composer, musician | Finland
Rene Ertomaa has studied composing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, London College of Music and and at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. His strong second study has been classical singing. Rene has participated in several composing and singing master classes/festivals including Corso di Canto Lirico (Italy); Sävellyspaja (Finland); Highscore Festival (Italy); Time of Music (Finland); Val Tidone Summer Camp (Italy) and Opera Mint Summer Course (UK.)
Rene's repertoire includes opera, lied, chamber, orchestral and theatre music as well as big band music. His compositions have been acclaimed at international chamber music festivals in Finland, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Lithuania.
Rene has composed music and perfromed in many of the essential fields of theater in Finland. These include The Finnish National Theatre, The Espoo Theatre, Tampere Theare Summer Festival, The Open Stage Festival (part of the Helsingin Juhlaviikot/Helsinki Festival), Savoy Theatre, Cable Factory/Kaapelitehdas, Theatre Jurkka among others. Rene has also composed music for the YLE Radio Theatre.
At Circolo Scandinavo Rene is mainly focusing on composing his opera The King of Brutalia.
