Writer and translator | Finland

Arto has been working as a translator and writer since the 1990s. He has translated poetry and prose from Latin and ancient Greek into Finnish and has been involved in projects on philosophy of art. In his  artistic work, the main focus has been to convey the ancient Greco-Roman heritage to Finnish culture and to develop Finnish literature by bringing new perspectives to thinking and widen the Finnish linguistic expression. Arto wants to present ancient thinking and art as something fascinating and relevant for our time, memorably both emotionally and intellectually.
