Glafira Galuzina

Glafira (1980) is an Løten-based artist, curator, and educator. Her artistic practice spans across different media – from graphics and video to sculpture and mural painting. Widely concerned with interpersonal relationships, collective behavioral patterns, and social dynamics, her work often takes the form of keen observation or ironic commentary. Glafira has created large scale works for public spaces in Kjøllefjord, Berlevåg, Kirkenes and Sandnessjøen. Primarily, she work with video art and drawings. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Norway, Russia and Germany (2022 Fresh legs, Berlin, 2022 Jeg kaller det kunst, Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design, Oslo, 2019 Lit Naits, Mexico, QB Gallery, Oslo, 2016 Berlin: Making of: Improvement of Market Facilities, ZUKUNFT am Ostkreuz, Bildersaal Zukunft, Berlin, 2015 Barents Spektakel, Kirkenes etc). 

Glafira is a member of the Visual Artists Association of Oslo (BO), Tegneforbundet and the Association of Norwegian Visual Artists (NBK).

Since 2006 she is an independent curator, coordinating and producing different projects in Northern Russia and Norway ( “Den rode armes tilbaketrekning / The Withdrawal of the Red Army / Возвращение Красной Армии”, Dark Ecology, AIR Barents, High North AiR Network, Transfer North Curatorial, and Critical Writing Residency, Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale, etc)

 Among her most recent curatorial projects are the exhibitions “Abduction” at Kontraskjæret in Oslo (2020), “Dead care” by A.Vepreva in BOA galleri, Oslo (2020), “Diplomat” at Blaker gml .Meieri (2019), Digital Balke | Divine North ”from the North Norwegian Art Museum in Murmansk (2017). From 2015 to 2018, she was director of the contemporary art gallery CH9 in Murmansk, where she exhibited many Norwegian and other international artists.
