MINNA KULOJÄRVI

Architect | Finland

Minna Kulojärvi is an architect and a PhD researcher from Finland. In her work as an architect, she has specialized in historical environments and urban planning. She is inspired by the ways historical layers and the power relations of previous centuries are reflected in cityscape and in individual buildings.

In her research project, she is particularly interested in the ways cultural heritage can be experienced as dissonant or contested, and how this dissonance shows in the ways the Italian architecture of the fascist era is perceived today. She explores diverse means that can be used to deal with dissonance in architecture and art. She is also intrigued by the possibilities how contemporary art and architecture can form a part of these processes, and how local people and

passers-by can participate in them.
